Group Class List

Group classes are great for students looking for classes to accompany their private lessons, or a great way to learn in a social setting. You can take a group lesson even if you don’t take a private lesson.

Musical Theatre - Wednesday 6-7pm

The triple threat! Musical theater is the art of combining dance music and drama together to create a spectacular show.

  • You don’t need to have taken dance to do this class, but it will include a light dance component.
  • We don’t skip on anything¬†–¬†All three disciplines are important.
  • Group showcase with soloist opportunities.

You will learn how to fill the stage with expression and excellence in this genre specific class.

Drama - Monday 5 - 6pm

This is a true standard drama class. It’s not exactly music, but it is important to include it at the school for one important reason.

  • When you are performing a song one of the most invaluable skills to have is to lock into the emotion of that song an communicate that to the audience.

You don’t have to take drama to learn how to communicate emotion, but it is an art and more connected to music than one might think.

In class you’ll learn.

  • Emotion and communication
  • Character development
  • Stagecraft
  • Acting with others and monologues.
  • And more!

Drama students receive showcases just like the music student. Class works to showcase a group play with the whole class for showcases.

Songwriting - Tuesday 7 - 8pm

Original songs only!!

You will be tough how to construct a song and develop understanding of:

  • Melody
  • Phrasing
  • Form
  • Style
  • And more!

This is a great class for inspiring songwriters or just for fun. You will get the opportunity to show your classmates what you have created and develop your skills.

You will also learn other things about the music industry and all of the elements that go into creating a song. Working to learn how to potentially fully produce your own song.

We will use the recording studio in this class and record your music!

You don’t need to know how to play an instrument to write a song, but we highly suggest you have a basic understanding of a melodic instrument such as piano or guitar for this class.

Ensemble/Rock Band

This class is for anyone who is interested in playing in the band.

  • We put you in a group of 4-6 players with similar taste, experience level and age.
  • Group had the freedom to explore any genre from indie and pop to rock and heavy metal.
  • You can write original songs if you want!
  • Learn to play with other musicians.
  • Students are accompanied by a teacher who will guide and help them through everything they do. A teachers guidance at beginning levels is crucial and will help immensely.
Group Singing/Choir - Monday 6:00-7:00pm

Set at two levels 9 – 14 and 15- 18+

A Capella is the art of creating music with only the human voice and body. That means singers get the opportunity not not only sing, but in many cases also sing the instrumental line as well.

  • A Capella songs are arranged for voice.
  • It is a very demanding and rewarding form of singing.

  • Due to the demanding nature all A Capella students music be taking at least half an hour of private singing at the school or have been asked by the director.

Singing/Choir - Wednesday 5-6pm

For anyone any age and any experience level. If you love singing you will love this class!!

  • You will learn songs and singing techniques. It’s like a private lesson in a group.
  • Perfect for anyone who might be shy to sing by themselves or if the private lesson isn’t right for you.
  • Also good for instrumentalists who want to know a bit about singing for their exams.

This is also a great way to meet other people. We will work hard but there is no reason why we can’t have fun doing it.

Piano ages 5-8 - Friday 4:30-5:30pm

A perfect way to play with other guitarists. Create a huge sound with multiple people playing the same line.

  • It’s the guitar equivalent of choir but with stings!
  • Group and soloist opportunities
  • A good way of learning guitar is private lessons are not the right option.
  • Most experience levels welcome, but we do suggest you take a term of private lessons first so you can learn some basics.
Piano - Thursday 5:30-6:30pm

For anyone any age and any experience level. If you love singing you will love this class!!

  • You will learn songs and singing techniques. It’s like a private lesson in a group.
  • Perfect for anyone who might be shy to sing by themselves or if the private lesson isn’t right for you.
  • Also good for instrumentalists who want to know a bit about singing for their exams.

This is also a great way to meet other people. We will work hard but there is no reason why we can’t have fun doing it.

Guitar Ensemble - Wednesday 6-7pm
